The skateable art sculpture was created for Converse through the Notes skate shop in Manchester. The design brief for this project was to create a skatable object for the Manchester community for the prolific skateboarder Alexis Sablone's first pro model shoe the AS1s. The skateboarding ledge reflects the architecture of Manchester, using the Urbis building as inspiration.
This design project is still used to this day in Manchester at the local DIY skate spot located in Ancoats, Manchester. Designed and built by myself and painted by the local artist Conner Dixon. This sculpture uses a mixed medium of materials, incorporating clear acrylic to mimic the glass facade of the Urbis building.
